Sadly more dwellings crumble
The death toll from last week's 6.9-magnitude earthquake in northwest China has risen to almost 2000.
The earthquake toppled about 15,000 homes in and around the impoverished county of Yushu, and caused more than 100,000 people to flee the area.
According to a resident of the area: "Tibetans have never experienced such a disaster in 2,500 years."
Considering the recent devastating earthquakes world-wide and the destruction mentioned in previous posts it is interesting that this should happen now in an area where earthquake is rare.
