We cannot ignore ISON at this point in time
I am not a scientist but I think it should be noted that the rare sighting of a very old comet is presently capturing the interest of many astronomers.
Comets are left-overs from the formation of our solar system. Comets have been solidly frozen for the past 4 billion years. It is from their ices and dust and how they have changed over the past billions of years tell scientists about the origins of our Sun and the planets.
ISON was discovered by Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok on September 21, 2012 using a 40-cm (16-inch) telescope in Russia. The telescope is part of the International Scientific Optical Network (ISON), a group of observatories for observing asteroids and space debris. Generally comets are named after their discoverers, but because the initial report from Nevski and Novichonok was not that it was a comet, the comet was named ISON after the telescope used to discover it.
Over the past decade 2003 -2013 hundreds of sungrazing comets have been discovered, but they are usually small, short-lived, and only seen by spacecraft designed to observe the Sun. Comet ISON was discovered at the great distance of 6 AU (just beyond Jupiter's orbit), and the pre-discovery observations go back to more than 8 AU from the Sun. ( AU stands for Astronomical Unit . One unit is the distance from the earth to the sun, that is 93 million miles). Because it was discovered so far away, the comet is much larger, and brighter, than the typical sungrazing comets.
Stargazers say they are "amazed" that a small chunk of Comet Ison appears to have remained intact after its brush with the Sun..
A streak of light seen streaming away from the Sun has given astronomers hope that a chunk of the much-anticipated "comet of the century" has survived its fiery encounter.
Telescopes tracking Comet Ison saw at least part of it emerge on the other side of the star around six hours after disappearing from view.
It was expected to be met with temperatures of about 2,700C (4,892F) and an intense gravitational pull as it passed within 730,000 miles of the surface of the Sun.
NASA scientists are continuing with their investigation. NASA strongly feels that the Hubble Space Telescope will greatly help in solving this mystery of whether the nucleus exists or not. If Hubble makes any such observations later in December 2013, the debate on Comet ISON will be fuelled again.
The comet of the century
Scientists hope to study this comet of the century to gain a proper insight into the formation of ancient solar systems and the planets.
"The reason we study comet ISON to begin with is it's a relic," a senior research scientist with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, said. "It's a dinosaur bone of solar system formation. You need comets in order to build the planets. This comet has been in a deep freeze half way to the next star for the last four and a half billion years. It's just been coming in over the last few millions years and possibly even started around the dawn of man."
The comet of the century was a significantly unique comet, something the scientists have not witnessed earlier
Signs of the end and ISON
I believe we cannot ignore ISON at this point in time because I believe it was made known to me that we are near (or already within) the end time.
This being the case the words of Luke 21:25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring” may indicate this very point in time.
We have seen the sea roaring with the tsunami in Indonesia in 2004, with Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Japan in 2011, Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and lately with the typhoon in the Philippines.
There is some distress of nations because of climate change and what may still happen in the near future.
The sighting of comet ISON in 2012, because it was so large and possibly surviving in solar observations in the next few weeks is of significance: FOR WE HAVE A REMNANT OF SOLAR SYSTEM FORMATION AND in Biblical terms because of its size and rarity IT IS A SIGN IN THE SUN AND THE STARS.
A possibility
This is of the greatest significance for there is now the possibility (because the time measures of Revelation were made known to me and extreme weather is occurring more frequently in the last decade) that Luke 21:25 has direct connection with what is happening at the present time. ISON through our scientific knowledge confirms to man that this comet has been travelling through space for billions of years and that the formation of earth and the universe has been over billions of years. In biblical terms it could be a sign (or the sign) and that a “day” can be to God as a thousand years. - but it also (through my knowledge of the time measures of Revelation) confirms to man that Jesus Christ knew that these things would happen at this point in time. God is bringing (the increase of knowledge – Dan 12:4) directly into relation with the signs of the end.
It seems that this is how God is going reveal to modern man that God is the Creator – and still is in control. With the coming together of the roaring of the waves and the sea, the “distress of nations” and signs in the sun moon and stars God is saying with ISON you are seeing proof of the formation of the universe billions of years ago, but Jesus Christ possibly predicted this sighting in 2012-13 when he prophesied the signs of the end time.
This is possibly some insight into how the deception of the figurative beast out of the earth and the beast of the sea are going to be destroyed through the signs of the end time.
