Firstly, thank you Richard for your thorough comment on
the matter of 'familiar spirits'. I am also confident
that Dr Janson's revelation was a genuine work of the
Holy Spirit.
Secondly, I sometimes write as Curmudgeon because I run
into too much trouble with my home church when I
express radical opinions (see below) under my own name.
Thirdly, the matter of Elijah and his wild and woolly
ways:
I do not believe that Elijah intended any serious
disrespect to Dr Janson. He was just carried away by
his passionate concern for Christian/Muslim relations.
Elijah was to me a fascinating paradox. I just wish
that we had had more time to engage with him. Some of
his statements seemed to come from a very high
'spiritual altitude'. For example;
"The task at hand calls for mankind to prove to the
universe why we are closest to God - why our vice-
regency has been chanted across the cosmos and our very
existence and decisions directly affect the energy of
the world. They are waiting to see why God demands of
them to bow before such lost and easily distracted
creations."
Then there was all this Christian/Muslim stuff which
seemed to me to be sort of middle level human opinion.
And then at the bottom there were the odd statements
which seemed to contradict scripture. He once wrote
that he did not believe that there was going to be any
great physical distress or breakdown here on earth
before Jesus returned.
I really wish I could be a fly on the wall in his
natural habitat of Baltimore City. One would need to
see him coping with everyday life in order to really
get an idea of what makes him tick.
