Revelation 9:1-12 King James Version (KJV)
Rev 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
As I mentioned in my previous post the first verse of a chapter is significant. You will remember that I said that the words “the star fell from heaven” (past tense) Rev 8:8 is repeated in Rev 9:1 “star fall from heaven” (present tense).
It is all about indicating time
In my previous post, I connected the meteor that fell in Russia in 1908 to Rev 8:8. It seems that Revelation is connecting the time of the “little season” to that “star” that fell in 1908, through the repetition of the words “star fell from heaven”, and “the key to the bottomless pit” given to the angel.
Rev 20:1-3 connects the time of the “key to the bottomless pit” to the “little season”.

Rev 20:1 “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
2008 -2013
It therefore seems that the sounding of the fifth trumpet can be placed about 2013. As it happened there fell a large meteor in Russia in February 2013.
A time of locusts
The time 2019 -2020 has been a time of significant locust plagues.
The 2019-20 locust infestation in Africa, Arabian Peninsula and South Asia is the worst in 70 years in Central Africa and the worst in 30 years in NE Africa and India.
Fires burning as a result of global
warming.
Before 2020 the earth witnessed large fires burning in many sections of the globe.
Rev 9:2 “And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”
The imagery used in this section of the time of the sounding of the fifth trumpet seems coincide with happenings in the time before 2020.
Green grass
In this time (2013 to 2020) the “grass” of the earth is still green. Therefore, in the present time there are those who carry the faith in Jesus Christ and the powers of Satan will not harm them.
In the time to come (Rev 8:7) “all green grass” will be burnt up.
Rev 8:4 “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.”
Five months
It seems that Revelation is confirming through the measure of “five months” that the time measure of “40 and two months” relates to the time of the sounding of the fifth trumpet and the time of the “little season” 2008 to 2020. You will remember that I connected the time of the “forty and two months” to the time of the Venus-Jupiter conjunction 27 August 2016 to 27 February 2020.
Now Revelation uses the words “in those days”
Revelation is now indicating that we have moved to the time of the “thousand, two hundred and threescore days” (Rev 11:3). This means the fifth trumpet also sounds to the very end.
Rev 9:6 “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
It is a time of tribulation
A time of battle to come
Rev 9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
A time of drug usage
10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
They have “the destroyer” (Abaddon or Apollyon) as their king.
11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
