In the days

(Have the book Revelation at hand)

Forty and two months

Now that, I believe, the time of the “forty and two months” in Revelation refers to the time 27 August 2016 (the Venus-Jupiter conjunction) to 27 February 2020 (the time of plague), and the words of Rev 18:8 “Therefore shall her plagues come in one day”, indicate that we may be in the time of the “1260 days”. We now have to investigate if we are in reality “in the days” (Rev 10:7 and 11:6 and Mat. 24:38) with the knowledge we have of present events, Revelation and Scripture. From what date or event does Revelation measure the “1260 days”?

The sign in the stars on 23 September 2017

There is a strong possibility that the “1260 days” are measured from the star formation on 23 September 2017.

September 23, 2017. On that date, the sun was in the constellation Virgo (the virgin), along with the moon near Virgo’s feet. Additionally, Jupiter was in Virgo, while the planets Venus, Mars, and Mercury were above and to the right of Virgo in the constellation Leo. Some people claim that this was a very rare event (allegedly only once in 7,000 years).

A thousand days

If a “thousand days” are calculated from 23 September 2017, one reaches 19 June 2020. What is of significance is that there was an Annular Solar eclipse on 21 June 2020.

The sun turned black

It is also of significance because of the words of the opening of the sixth seal; where the words “the sun turned black” appear, they are connected to the word “sackcloth”.

Rev 6:12 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;”

Sackcloth

Remember, there are the only two verses in which the word “sackcloth” is used in Revelation. In the other verse it is connected to the “1260 days”.

Rev 11:3 “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days (1260 days), clothed in sackcloth.”

The above verse says that up to the time of the very last time measure it will outwardly appear that the holy people have no power and are wretched (“clothed in sackcloth”)

It is, at this point in time, extremely important that the other verse with the measure of “1260 days” appears in the same chapter as the sign in the heavens, 23 September 2017, namely, chapter 12.
The verse that reveals the star formation

I am not an astrologer, but this sign in the heavens could be linked to Rev 12:1.

Rev 12:1 “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:”

Rev 12:1 reveals the time of the birth of Christ, but also figuratively that the time measures (“twelve stars” and Job 9:7 “seal up the stars”) of Revelation were sealed and are measured from the time of the birth of Christ.

Rev 12:6

It is therefore possible that the last time measure (“1260 days”) is measured from this sign and, this is important, that the only other position of this time measure is in Chapter 12:6.

Rev 12:6 “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days (1260 days).”

Rev 12:6 says that the Faith will spread to the ends of the earth (“wilderness”) and the Faith will grow and be sustained there until the very last time measure.

We are therefore possibly in the “two hundred days”

The “days” of the “1260 days” is a day, as we know it to be, that is 24 hours. This is hectic, because in that case we may be presently already in the “200 days” of the “1260 days”.

The same time

As I have often said on this Forum, a repetition of words in Revelation can indicate the same time. The same time seems to be borne out by the repetition of “sackcloth” in Rev 6:12 and 11:3 and the repetition of “one thousand, two hundred and threescore days” in Rev 11:3 and 12:6.

In the days

In my understanding of Revelation this time measure (“1260 days”) is the last time measure of Revelation. I believe it to be an indication of the final time measure that relates also to “in the days” in Rev 10:7 when the seventh trumpet sounds.

Things can move very quickly from now on.

(This is substantiated by the word “quickly” in Rev 11:14.)

Mat 24:37-39

Mat 24:37 “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

These words have hit me because we “lived deliciously” (Rev18:7) until the pandemic came.

No flood

Because we know that the earth will never again be flooded and because we may be very near the end time, this puts a completely different light on the remaining happenings indicated in the opening of the sixth seal Rev 6:12-17.

The sixth seal

We now, I believe, have to take a very close look at the opening of the sixth seal. I say this because certain words as well as the understanding of Revelation may indicate how quickly things might happen now.

Rev 6:12-17

Rev 6:12 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;”
We shall have to keep a close watch on happenings in the coming times of sun and moon eclipses.

Rev 6:13 “And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.”
It will be a time of climate change, strong hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones.

Heaven departed as a scroll

Rev 6:14 “And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

The word “departed” is used in Rev 6:14 and 18:14

Rev 18:14 “And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shall find them no more at all.”

It is now in the time of pandemic that the book Revelation (scroll) is being understood.

Rev 6:14 “Every mountain and ísland were moved out of their places”.

Because it seems as if we are in the last time measure, I understand these words to have also a figurative meaning. If the Return is as a thief then these words can relate to the figurative meanings of “mountain”, “island” and “moved” in the Bible.

Seven mountains

Rev 17:9 “And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”

In the above verse Revelation says that the seven heads of the beast that carries the woman (that is the great city Rev 17:18) are seven mountains on which the woman sits. The meaning of the “seven mountains” relates to the words of the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah refers to “mountains” as being indicative of both haughtiness and arrogance.

“Upon all high mountains”, “the loftiness of man shall be bowed down”

Isaiah 2:14-18

14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
15 And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish.

Therefore “every mountain” in Rev 6:14 can figuratively relate to the arrogance of man in the last days.

Every island

He shall deliver the island of the innocent.

Job 22:29-30

Job 22:29 “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.”

Therefore “every island” can relate figuratively to “the island of the innocent” that shall be delivered.

“Moved”

This is substantiated by the word “move” in “moved out of their places”.

Isaiah uses the verb “move” to indicate the removal of idols. (Isaiah 19:1 and 40:20).

In other words the words “and every mountain and island were moved out of their places” can figuratively mean that God is going to bring down the arrogant and haughty and restore the innocent.

As a thief (Rev.16:15)

If therefore, “every mountain and island were moved out of their places” (Rev 6:14) has a figurative meaning, there is not going to be a disturbance of the physical earth.
This understanding could to fit into the Second Coming as a “thief” in the time of “days”.

Rev 6:15 relates to the time before the final conflict. See also Rev 19:18.

Rev 6:15 “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

“Hid themselves in the dens and the
rocks of mountains.”

Job 37:8 “Then the beasts go into dens.”

Isaiah 2:18-20

Isaiah 2:18 “And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;”

Rev 6:16-17

Rev 6:16 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to
stand?”

Rev 6:16 relates to the words that Christ spoke on the way to the Cross

The days are coming

Luke 23:29 “For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

The word “day” in Rev 16:17 must be noted.
