According to my understanding now in 2022, Revelation
reveals that even at the time of John on Patmos the
Trinity knew the course that the spread of the
Christian faith would take within the nations. It is
with this belief and conviction that one can ultimately
grasp the meaning of the symbolism of Revelation.
The beast
As I have shown on this website Revelation reveals how
the “beast coming up out of the sea” and “the beast
coming up out of the earth” are indications of how the
nations would be misled in the time from 1266 to 1992.
(This is the time of the “six hundred, threescore and
six years” (666 years from 1266 to 1932; Rev.13:18) and
the time of “the fourth part of earth” (threescore
years from 1932 to 1992; Rev 6:8.) (Read Chapter 14 of
How Near Armageddon in the Chapters section of this
website.)
Time of transition
When one understands that Revelation uses these years
as significant points of discoveries and happenings
that God wanted man to achieve and master, in the time
from 1266, but He knew man would be confronted by the
temptations of Satan (therefore the use of the word
“beast”), one can begin to comprehend the complexity of
Revelation chapter 17, in which God explains in
symbolic language the transition from the rule of kings
to the rule by free men in ultimately all the nations
of the globe. (Rev.13:3 “all the world wondered after
the beast”).
King and priest
The concept of “king and priest” is central in
Revelation. Rev. 1:6 “And has made us kings and priests
unto God.” This means that in your thinking and
decision-making (as a priest) and in your doing (in
your work and vocation) a Christian must be committed
to the Faith. It is a total commitment. This
commitment to the Faith was also vested in the
autocratic Christian kings of history. Unfortunately,
in numerous cases good judgement failed many kings and
history is laden with decisions that led to the misery,
poverty and death of the people. Change had to come.
The power and strength
The words “power and strength” in Rev.17:13 must be
particularly noted in relation to your question.
Rev.17:9-13
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven
heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one
is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh,
he must continue a short space.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the
eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings,
which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive
power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and
strength unto the beast.
Before 1266
The numbers “7” and “10” are numbers of totality in
Revelation. In other words, Revelation is indicating
what happened in the countries where there developed
over the centuries before 1266 a unity of a Christian
king and Church.

the beast” in Chapters on this website, in order to see
ten countries of Europe and the lines of kings, that I
believe are included in the symbolism of Rev.17:10-13.)
Approx.24 years.(“one hour” Rev.17:12)
As I showed in How Near Armageddon there were ten kings
that reigned for approx. 24 years in the time that the
power and strength of the king was transferred to a
ruling council or parliament of free men.
In the case of the English king, who ruled from 1625 to
1649 (24 years), Even though after his death, the
“power and strength” (Rev.17:13) was passed to
Parliament, the symbolic throne, signifying the
maintenance of the unity of the Church and throne (even
though after that time subordinate to Parliament),
through the centuries, has been kept until the present
day.
Complex
This complex arrangement of transference of power from
kingdom to a ruling parliament or council in Europe, I
believe, Revelation reveals was preordained by God.
This situation has been maintained because all citizens
want to be free and there have been those leaders in
state and government who still understand the
importance of the Christian tradition.
Rev. 17:17 “For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil
his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the
beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.”
Lived and reigned with Christ
Now that I believe we can comprehend the scope of the
meaning of the words “lived and reigned with Christ a
thousand years” (Rev.20:4), revealing that through the
power of the Holy Spirit, God would guide the course
that the nations would take through certain persons,
peace and stability would be maintained until “the
words of God shall be fulfilled” Rev. 17:17 (until all
that has been predicted in Revelation and Scripture is
fulfilled).
The complexity of Revelation.
While all the above has been playing out over
centuries, there are of course the other chapters of
Revelation that reveal other aspects of what has been
taking place at the same time. These aspects are
connected to this history to reveal that “the beast”
has already taken action and is at his strongest at the
present time. We can now understand the increase in
crime and lawlessness among persons in all nations and
those that place their law above the Laws of God.
2 Thess. 2:3-4
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day
will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of
lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to
destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself
over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so
that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming
himself to be God.
