Fourth earthquake in two weeks rattles Israel
An earthquake registering 4.0 on the Richter scale originating in the Dead Sea Basin was felt in Jerusalem and the Coastal Plain on Sunday morning. Last Saturday a 4.1 quake was also detected, while earlier in the past two weeks quakes of 3.0 and 4.2 magnitude were registered throughout the county. No damages or injuries were reported in any of the seismic activity. Experts in earthquake preparedness have concluded that some 400,000 buildings have not been built to regulation and the 1,820 schools, 5,400 kindergartens, 12,000 government buildings and 105 factories containing hazardous material could not withstand a major earthquake.
US lobbies UN to endorse Annapolis
The US has asked the United Nations Security Council to endorse BY RESOLUTION the Annapolis agreement between Israel and the Palestinians for a peace settlement by the end of 2008. The UN resolution will endorse “the program of action for negotiations and implementation of outstanding obligations pursuant to the roadmap agreed upon by the Israeli and Palestinian leadership at Annapolis, Maryland on Nov. 27, 2007," and it will cooperate with ongoing Quartet efforts "to achieve a permanent two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East."
US Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad said that so far everyone was positive about such a resolution, “there was enormous support” and “everyone recognizes that we collectively and individually have to do what we can to be supportive, sustain the momentum and help the parties as they make the difficult decisions that they have to make.”
Why is this so important? Because we have here the VOTED WILL of the international community to eventually enforce the re-division of Jerusalem as Capital of the Jewish people. It will in all likelihood be enforced on Israel and bring into fulfilment the prophetic scriptures of Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, he houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. The judgment of the nations in relation to Jerusalem can be watched on this short film:

UN vote 60 years
All this is happening at a time when Israel is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the UN vote in 1947 for the partitioning of Palestine and a homeland for the Jewish people. Can you imagine if the vote of 1947 had such consequences, what will be the outcome of a vote to divide Israel and Jerusalem?
