Measure the temple of God and the altar.

(Readers should look up all the verses mentioned in this post so that they can ultimately understand the construction of Revelation.)

In a previous post the “temple” was measured. Two measures of “three days and a half” were revealed. The temple of God was measured from the time of the birth of Jesus Christ (calculated from 4BC) until the time that Mars was at its nearest point to the earth on 28 August 2003. This measure was two periods of “three days and a half”. It was seen that “ten days” (Rev. 2:10) can be measured back from 2003 to the time of the prophet Elijah.

Before I proceed to measure the “altar”, I wish to make the following clear to readers. I have often said this on the website, but I am going to repeat it here for the sake of new readers. Three things were made known to me through the Devine intervention on 22 August 1996. The first was that five specific times in history that Biblical scrolls were discovered, coincided with certain symbols in the book Revelation. Four of these times related to the opening of the first four “seals” (Rev 6:1-8) in Revelation. These five times are also ‘five’ of the “seven thunders” as mentioned Rev 10:3. The second insight that was given me was that in 1996 we were near the end time. With this knowledge Revelation could ultimately be correlated with history as shown in How Near Armageddon. The third instruction was to make known, what I then knew. Readers should note that the knowledge that was given me through the Divine intervention and the subsequent correlation of Revelation with history as set out in How near Armageddon was a ‘loosening’ of the seals of the scroll and a ‘process’ in the understanding of Revelation. Since 1996 the understanding of Revelation was an ongoing discovery relating to both the past and the present time. It was for these reasons that this website was opened and at this time I can relate any further insights.

As we have seen in previous posts, it is only through the words of Jesus Christ (e.g. John 2:19 “destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up”) that the seals are made “loose” (See Rev 5:4). Some verses of Revelation apply specifically to the measurement of time through history, some verses apply to the end time, and some verses apply both to time measurement in history and the end time. As we approach the end time and ‘signs’ of the end become apparent we can finally see the entire scroll opening and all the symbolism of Revelation coming together.

It was shown in the correlation of the history of the Christian nations and Revelation in How Near Armageddon, and specifically in the Afrikaans book, Ek is die Begin en die Einde ( I am the Beginning and the End) that Revelation seems to measure time back from a point either in 2004 or not far beyond. This understanding was substantiated by Revelation 13:2 where Revelation indicates a reversing of the sequence of the first three beasts seen by Daniel in Dan 7:4-6. This reversal was significant, because I had also discovered that Revelation seems to start a chapter or a section of Revelation at the end time and then through its symbolism moves back into history to relate the time measure and the correlation with history. These ‘points’ at the end time from which Revelation measures time back could not be established because we could not yet see the signs of the end. It was only in 2003, that I believe that I was given insight to the times of the opening of the “fifth” and “sixth” seals. Only recently was I given the insight that the opening of these two seals reveal the end ‘points’ of certain time measures in Revelation.

How do we find the points in history from which “the altar” must be measured? And how do we discover the end point? Rev 11:1-2 “And there was given me a reed like a rod: and the angel stood saying, rise and measure the temple of God, and the altar,….” I believe that the time of “altar” is understood through, firstly, how the word “altar” is used in Scripture; secondly, through the understanding of Revelation; and thirdly, through that which is taking place on earth at the present time. Firstly, all the verses in which the word “altar” appears have to be taken into account.

The word “altar” is used in Rev 6:9 , in the opening of the fifth seal.
Revelation places the word “altar” in specific positions in order to reveal its meaning, but also to show how the “altar” relates to other symbols of Revelation.

Rev 6:9-11 “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony that they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on earth? And white robes was given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

In the Old Testament Moses made the tabernacle according to the “pattern” given to him by God (Ex. 25:9 and 40 and 26:30). There is therefore an ‘understanding’ that there is also a figurative ‘altar’ in heaven. In the opening of the fifth seal (Rev 6:9) we are told that the souls of the believers who were slain for their faith are under the altar in heaven. Revelation reveals the altar in heaven in the opening of the fifth seal in order to show believers what is taking place in heaven at the time of the opening of the fifth seal. We have reached the time that Revelation is bringing what is taking place in heaven in relation to what is taking place on earth, because we are already seeing the fulfilment of the prophecy of Revelation.

In How near Armageddon the time of “altar” was measured from the time of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, for in Revelation 5:6 the death of Jesus Christ is described as the “Lamb” that was “slain” for the sins of the world (see also John1: 29 and 36). In the beginning of Revelation it is said (Rev 1:17) “I am the first and the last” and towards the end (Rev 22:13) “I am the beginning and the end”. These words of course mean that the Trinity is the beginning and end of all things, but in the understanding of the symbolism of Revelation, the time measures of Revelation have a beginning and an end point. The measure of “temple” was from the birth date of Jesus Christ and the measure of “altar” relates to the “slain” Lamb.

With the insight that was given me in 2003 that the “fourth part of earth” (Rev 6:8) relates to the time measurement of “the beast out of the earth”, I believe the time of “altar” is measured up to about the time 2002. (After 2002 there is a “short season” in which Christians will die because of their faith. This time measure will be discussed in a following post.) I am going to give a summary of what was previously said on this Forum and website because the measurement of “altar” is of the greatest significance in the understanding of Revelation. Readers should also refer back to the post in this Forum “the fourth part of earth” as well as the full explanation of the “beast out of the earth” in the Q&A section of this website. The ‘end’ measurement of “altar” in 2002 can only be established when the opening of the “third seal” Rev 6:5-6, is fully understood and the entire meaning of Revelation 13:13-18, the section of Revelation that deals with the “beast out of the earth” has been correlated with history.

Therefore, virtually the entire Revelation had to be understood before it was discovered that the time of the opening of the fifth seal, and the end time of “altar” is the time 2002. It may seem to the readers that I am diverting from measuring the “altar” in the following paragraphs, but I am going to give the readers some insight as to how Revelation reveals information through the repetition of words in certain verses. Revelation builds on knowledge revealed in previous verses. In this way only, can Revelation’s construction be understood. Note how through the repetition of the word “man” in various verses Revelation reveals meaning. This insight will help to reveal how the repetition of the word “altar” in verses in Revelation reveals meaning and chronology in the end time.

Rev 6:5-6 - The opening of the third seal. As I have often said on this website, Revelation builds on knowledge that is revealed in previous verses.
In Rev 4:7 it is said “and the third beast had a face as a man”, these words have meaning in the understanding of what is meant by the symbolism of the opening of the “third seal” in Rev 6:5-6. The opening of the “third seal” is in two sections: one section is Rev 6:5 and the other Rev 6:6. Rev 6:5 ”And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see..”. Through what is said in this verse Revelation links the opening of the “third seal” to “man”. This is only known because back in Rev 4:7 it was said that the “third beast had a face as a man. It is only when we understand how Revelation links its words can we know that the opening of the third seal deals with what pertains to the word “man” in Revelation.

In Rev 6:5 we are told “a black horse and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.” Once again Revelation builds on the knowledge of the opening of the first and second seals in Rev 6:1-4. It was made known to me through the Divine intervention that the time of the opening of the third seal is linked to the time 1896. In other words the symbolism of the opening of the third seal is connected to the time 1896. Rev 6:5 reveals that by the year 1896 (and as we know through history) it was accepted in the Christian nations that the nations would no longer be ruled directly by kings. (In the opening of the first seal, the crown on the head of the rider on the white horse is symbolic of the time that the rule of the Christian nations would be by kings.) Also by 1896, the strife that continued for centuries between the Christian Church and the state that led to the most bloodiest of wars had come to an end (In the opening of the second seal this time is symbolised by the rider on the red horse.) By 1896 the authority of the Christian Church had been removed from the state. The rule of the nations would now be ‘weighed’ (symbolised by the balances in the hand of the rider on the black horse). The leadership of the nations would be in the hands of the majority of the people of the nations. The ruling of the nations would be in the hands of ‘men’.

Rev 6:6 opens with the words “And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say”. The word “voice” in Revelation relates to Rev 10:3-4 , the “voices” of the “seven thunders”. The voices of the seven thunders were something that John would not write down at Patmos, but to-day we know that they are seven time measures in Revelation that would in 1996 bring understanding to the book Revelation. Therefore “voice “ relates to the time 1896. This was a time made known to me by the Devine intervention. Note now the words “in the midst of the four beasts”. These same words are used in Rev 5:6 “And I beheld, and lo, in the midst of the throne, and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,”. Through the repetition of the words “in the midst of the four beasts” Revelation reveals that the symbolism of the opening of the third seal has to do with the “Lamb as it had been slain”.

The second part of the opening of the “third seal” (Rev 6:6) reveals “parts” of the number of a “man” mentioned in Rev 13:18 “six hundred, threescore, and six” (666) . How is this revealed. It is revealed through the words of Rev 6:6 “a measure of wheat” and “a measure of barley” in “a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny”. In Ezra 7:22 “a hundred measures of wheat” is given and in Ruth 3:17 “six measures of barley”. We therefore have two measures “hundred” and “six”. The opening of the third seal reveals that the time 1896 is in a way linked to the numbers “hundred” and “six”. We therefore have to look where these numbers are mentioned in Revelation. They appear in the number “six hundred, threescore and six” in Rev 13:18. The linking of 1896 with the number “six hundred, threescore and six” was of course found to be so in the correlation of Rev 13:13-18 with the history of the man’s discoveries as set out in the understanding of the “beast out of the earth” on this website. The time of “six hundred, threescore and six” is the time 1266 to 1866 (six hundred years), 1866 to 1926 (threescore years) 1926 to 1932 (six years).

One of the most revealing verses in Revelation is Rev 21:17. In Rev 21:17 we are told that the measure of “144” in Revelation is in “cubits”. “And he (the angel) measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel”.” In Rev 21:17 we are also told that the measure of the “cubit” is also “the measure of a man” (“according to the measure of a man”). It is only when we know all the measures of Revelation that we can know that a ‘cubit’ in Revelation is the measure of a “year” and it is also “the measure of a man”. The angel was measuring the “wall”, “according to the measure of a man”. (The “wall” is symbolically the last 144 years of time that can be measured in Revelation. We shall later see that “the outer court” Rev 11:2 is the final time measure that cannot be measured.) For this reason Revelation says in Rev 13:13 “for it is the number of a man”. What Revelation is revealing is that the number “six hundred, threescore and six” is “the measure of a man”. The “beast out of the earth” is understood in “years”. For this reason the time “six hundred, threescore and six “, in Rev 13:13-18 could be correlated with particular ‘years’ in history.

We can therefore see that through the repetition of the word “man” Revelation reveals or opens up meaning in other chapters of Revelation. In this same way Revelation repeats the word “altar” to give greater understanding concerning the sequence of the end points of the time measures of Revelation.
The measurement of “altar” is continued in the following post.
