Hurricanes,locusts and typhoons in 2004

It should be noted that the devastation in the Philippines at the end of November and the beginning of December 2004 was the result of four storms (three tropical systems and the typhoon Nanmadol). These four windstorms with heavy rain came upon the islands within just two weeks. This happened in the same season and year that “four winds” caused great devastation in the Caribbean and the Americas (hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne in the space of six weeks). The first four storms were in the West in and then four storms in the East.

North and South

These occurrences should be viewed in conjunction with apparent shifting wind patterns around the North Pole that have been partly to blame for weather changes in the Northern Hemisphere. The polar vortex above the North pole is speeding up and scientists do not exactly know why. The increased polar winds may be a reaction to the warming global temperature. There is also a theory that the ozone hole in the Southern Hemisphere is widening. The Antarctic polar vortex that constitutes extremely cold winds surrounds the ozone hole. Global warming and ozone depletion are working together to shrink the vortex, as well as cause the winds to move even faster, dragging rain clouds towards the south pole, away from Australia. These circumstances have caused changing weather conditions in Australia – long periods of drought and sudden severe storms.

Global warming

The increased polar winds that may be a reaction to the warming global temperature seems to be supported by the words of Revelation. Because I believe that we are in the time of the “outer court” (Rev 11:2) and that the times of the Gentiles are coming to an end, the words of Rev 11:6 “these (my two witnesses) have power to shut heaven” have to be considered. It seems that in the end time, when God wishes to save the remnant of Christians with the gift of the Holy Spirit (the meaning of two witnesses –see Heb 2:4) times of drought (shut heaven) will be experienced. In other words it is revealed that the Christians who persevere in their faith in the time when the forces of evil are at their most destructive (Rev 11:7 “the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit”) are a factor in the coming of the signs of the end that seem to be unfolding at this point in time.

Four winds of the earth

There seems to be accelerating winds in the North and the South as well as an increased occurrence of tropical systems in the West and Far East in 2004. It seems that words of Revelation are coming together in a short space of time. We have reached the time that the four angels are no longer holding back the four winds of the earth. Rev 7:1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the winds should not blow on the earth, nor the sea, nor any tree.” As these words come from the section on the opening of the sixth seal, we have confirmation that we have reached the point in time that the sixth seal is opened. (The sequence of events in the last five months of 2003, that were related in the post “The Sixth Seal” also fall in the time of the opening of the sixth seal.)

Great river Euphrates

The appearance of the unusually large locust plague in Africa at exactly this time (October 2003 and 2004) seems to show that we have reached the time of the sounding of the fifth trumpet. We have also reached the time of the sounding of the sixth trumpet. Note the words of Revelation 9:13-14 “And the sixth angel sounded and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound at the great river Euphrates.” Through the repetition of the words “four angels” in Rev 7:1 and 9:14 Revelation brings the time of the blowing of the winds of the earth into relation with the area of the Euphrates River. December 2004 is the time that the world waits to see if stability will come to that region.
