Ice–free summers in the Arctic by 2013?

It was reported on CNN, 30 July 2008, that the co-leader of an international research team, speaking from the Coast Guard icebreaker Amundsen in Canada's north, that plans to set up an ice camp last February had to be abandoned when usually dependable ice didn't form for the second year in a row.

It's the same story all around the Arctic. He hasn't seen any ice in weeks. Nobody on the ship is surprised anymore. We've been trying to get the word out for the longest time now that things are happening fast and they're going to continue to happen fast.

Ward Hunt breakup

A chunk of ice spreading across 18 square kilometers (seven square miles) has broken off a Canadian ice shelf in the Arctic, scientists said. A researcher at Trent University, said the event was consistent with the theory that the current Arctic climate isn't rebuilding ice sheets.

The sheet is the biggest piece shed by one of Canada's six ice shelves since 2005 when the Ayles shelf broke loose from the coast of Ellesmere, about 500 miles from the North Pole.

The Ward Hunt breakup is related to what is being seen thousands of kilometers away in the Arctic

Many scientists now believe that the Arctic will have ice-free summers by 2013 instead of 2030 as predicted by the International Panel on Climate Change.

Untimely figs

Phenomenal seasonal change at the present time, as the above, is significant in relation to what has been said on this website. Rev 6:13 “even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs”. Seasonal change observed in your back yard I believe is a sure sign of the final season. Matthew 24:33 “When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”
