Asian Quake

A year

It should be noted that the Asian Quake on 26 December 2004, that caused the devastating tsunami’s in a vast area of the Indian Ocean, happened exactly one year after the earthquake in Bam in Iran (26 December 2003). In the time measures of Revelation this is of paramount importance.

Readers will recall that it was through a correlation of Rev 6:12 –13 with the reverse sequence of events that occurred in the last five months of 2003 that a period of five months (Rev 9:5 and 10) was revealed (See post on this Forum “The Sixth Seal”). It seems that the happenings of the two great earthquakes in Bam and in the seabed near Sumatra reveal the time of a “year” in Revelation.

The word “year” only appears once in Revelation, that is, in Rev. 9:15. As I have often said on this web site, every word is carefully placed in Revelation. Rev 9:15 “And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day and a month and a year, for to slay the third part of men”. A year between the two earthquakes and in the same year evidence of ‘four winds’ in the far reaches of the earth (see the posts “Four winds” and “Locusts in 2004” on this Forum) seems at this point in time, to reveal that the “four angels” have been ‘loosed’. Rev 7:1 “four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth.” Rev 7:2 “the four angels to whom was given to hurt the earth and the sea.” We have reached the time that the “earth” and the “sea” will be “hurt”. The words “earth” and “sea” do not only literally mean the earth and the sea, but also what the time measurements of Revelation have revealed to be the meaning of “the beast out of the earth” and “the beast out of the sea”.

Asian Quake predicted

There are many, even church leaders, who at this time do not understand how a loving God can cause such hardship to happen to so many people. Those who have studied this web site will know that the Holy Spirit has through the knowledge of the time measures of Revelation made known the reasons for this earthquake. The “hurt” that has come upon the earth through the Asian Quake is a sign of the end that has been brought upon mankind in no uncertain terms. With the knowledge of the time measures of Revelation it confirms that the year 2004 has a special significance in Revelation.

Great earthquake

The words “great earthquake” appear three times in Revelation (Rev 6:12; 11:13 and 16:18) and the word “earthquake” appears twice (Rev 8:5 and 11:19). We now have to look at the words of Revelation to see which words of Revelation denote the Asian Quake.

Rev 6:12 “And I beheld, when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake.” According to the sequence of events at the end of 2003, this verse relates to the earthquake in Bam in 2003.

The sequence of events in 2003 that correlated with Rev 6:12-13, were what I believe is meant in Luke 21:25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon and in the stars”. These words of Luke 21:25 are followed by “and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the seas and the waves roaring.” The latter relates to what is taking place on earth at the present time. The winds in the “four corners” of the earth have churned up the seas and the nations have witnessed in the tsunami’s that followed the quake a “the seas and the waves roaring.” This verse in Luke combines the time 2003 and 2004. I therefore believe that Rev 6:12 relates to both the earthquake in Bam and the Asian Quake. Also because there is a time measure of Revelation (year) between the two quakes. After this time measure (26 December 2004) we can no longer measure time for we are in the time of the “outer court”. All that we do know is that there is a relationship between the verses in which the word “earthquake” appears.

Rev 8:5 “And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.”

Voices, thunderings and lightnings

The word “earthquake” is combined with the words “voices”, “thunderings” and “lightnings”. [In two other verses “earthquake” is also combined with these same words. Rev 11:19 “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.” In this verse the words “lightning” and “thunderings” are reversed. Rev 16:18 “ And there were voices, and thunders and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great.”]

Rev 8:5 can relate to both the earthquake in Bam and the Asian Quake. I say this because there is exactly a time measure of a year between the earthquake in Bam and the Asian Quake. A “year” is a time measure of Revelation. There is a quake at the beginning and the end of the time measure. The words “altar”, “earth”, “voices” and “thunderings” in Rev 8:5 confirm the time. Both these earthquakes fell in the time “altar” (“filled it with fire of the altar”) which I placed in the time after 2002 (see the post on this Forum “Measure the altar”). In How near Armageddon the time of “earth” (“cast it into the earth”) was measured up to the time 2004. The Asian Quake seems to have happened at the end of the time of the “number of the beast: for it is the number of a man” (Rev 13:18). The word “voices” relates to the word “voices” in Rev 10:4 “And when the seven thunders uttered their voices”. In How near Armageddon it was shown that “voices” of the “seven thunders” relate to the time measures of Revelation that were revealed to me through the Divine intervention and that are the basis of my understanding of Revelation.

It seems therefore that through the words “voices” and “thunderings” Revelation is revealing that the earthquakes indicate the end of the time measures of Revelation. The ends of the times of the Gentiles.

Rev 11:13 “And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven”. We have not reached the time of this earthquake, but it is possible that this verse also relates to the Asian Quake and foretells what is going to happen. It should be noted that “tenth” in Revelation refers to a “third” of the “city” which is a third of the globe. Those who have studied this web site will know that Revelation reveals thirds of the earth through “tens”, “hundreds” and “thousands”. The number “ten” in “ten days” (Rev 2:10) relates to the middle of the earth. The number 144 000 ( Rev 14:1) relates to the entire earth.

Likewise the number “seven thousand” indicates that the entire earth will be affected. We should therefore note that the Asian Quake had two of these elements. The quake happened in the Far East section of the earth and yet many nationalities were affected.

(I do not think that we have reached the time of the end of the “second woe” – Rev 11:14)

Rev 11:19 We have also not yet reached the time of Rev 11:19. Through the repetition of the words “and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake” (see Rev 8:5), there is a relationship between the earthquakes in Bam and Asia and the one (one or more?) to come.

Rev 16:18 –19 “And there were voices, and thunders , and lightnings, and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell.” Note once again the repetition of the words “ “voices”, “thunders” and “lightnings”. Note too that through the words “four winds” and “locusts” (see previous posts) we have already seen that signs in 2004 divide the earth in “three parts”. Therefore the earth is not literally going to divide into three parts. If more earthquakes should happen in other parts of the globe, it will just confirm that the words of Revelation are being fulfilled.

Rev 16:19 is followed by the words in Rev 16:20 “And the islands fled away’. These words likely relate to the Asian Quake, for the inhabitants of the islands of the Indian Ocean had to flee and the it was noted that there was a movement of islands, some twelve feet, after the quake.

Christmas time – celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ

The occurrence of the earthquake in Bam (26 Dec 2003) and the Asian Quake almost on Christmas Day (26 Dec 2004) is astounding in the light of the understanding of Revelation. I say this because the time measures of Revelation all relate to the birth date of Jesus Christ in the time 4BC.

Revelation seems to reveal in Rev 11:7-10 what is happening at the present time and why the earthquakes happened at Christmas time.
Rev 11:7 “And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome and kill them”.

It has been explained in previous posts that the “two witnesses” are those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and particularly those who by the courage of their convictions carried the message of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. They followed the teaching of Jesus Christ that the message of Christianity had to be brought to all the nations. They carried the message that the way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. However, Revelation reveals that there came a point when they “finished their testimony.”

“And when they have finished their testimony”: When the message of Jesus Christ reached the ends of the earth in the twentieth century, the ruling of the nations would proclaim a freedom of world faiths. This was the result of a gradual rebellion in the second millennium by the populations of the nations against initially the cruel and unbending hold of the Christian Church on its congregations. As a result of the wars of religion and the cruelty of absolute rulers, the nations replaced the rule of kings by the rule of men (the rule accepted by the majority of a nation’s citizens). Revelation reveals this transition of the rule of the nations as the “beast out of the sea” for in this process there would come a rift between the Christian Church and State. A rift that could not ensure that Christianity would be the accepted state religion. Because the rule of the majority brought an end to religious wars and an acceptance of human rights this form of government seemed to be the answer to lasting peace.

“The beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome and kill them”.

So convinced were the nations that this form of government was the way forward that they were prepared to make war against, or kill anyone who opposed this ideology. Because the law of the nations decrees the equalisation of world faiths the testimony of the “two witnesses”, was gradually undermined. Ultimately the testimony of the “two witnesses” is at the present time, the time “that the beast ascends out of the bottomless pit”, not seen to be or no longer accepted to be above the law of equalisation.

Rev 11:8 “And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” In “How near Armageddon” this verse has meaning in relation to history. It also relates to the present time. Revelation reveals that “the great city” is the place where the testimony of the “two witnesses” is dead. The result is immorality (Sodom), and the humiliation of those who testify to the true faith in the great city (Egypt). “Spiritually is called Sodom” for God is going to destroy, “and Egypt” because God is going to lead his people out of the situation.

Rev 11:9 “And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. In order to understand what is meant by the words “dead bodies “ (used twice) we have to go to Scripture. Psalm 79:2 “The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven; the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth”. Jeremiah 34:20 “their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of heaven, and to the beasts of the earth”.

Readers will recall that Rev 20:18 “And I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven” was placed at the time January –February 2004. That was the time of the bird flu in the east and the destruction of millions of fowls and birds.

The repetition of the words ”dead bodies” indicates that they relate to both history and 2004. In this verse Revelation reveals that those who testified to the Christian faith (“two witnesses”) in the spread of the faith during the second millennium (“three days and a half”) would seemingly lose to the power of the “beasts” of Revelation. In 2004 when the faith had reached all nations, “the ends of the earth”, (“people and kindreds and tongues and nations”) those who testify to the Christian faith have been given over to the authority of the beasts of Revelation. (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.”) The testimony of the Christian faith that includes the Holy Spirit is tolerated in a position of humiliation (“not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves”) by equalising it to all world faiths. Not to bury someone is a form of humiliation.

Rev 11:10 “And they that dwell on earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts to one another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on earth.” “They that dwell on earth” has the meaning of those who have been misled by what Revelation reveals to be “the beast out of the sea” and “the beast out of the earth”.

To understand this verse we have to go to Scripture. (See also How near Armageddon p.190) Nehemiah 8:12 “And all the people went their way to eat and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, for they understood the words that were declared unto them.”

Because the earthquakes in Bam and Asia came at Christmas time in both 2003 and 2004, (the earthquakes correlate with the time measures of Revelation) the first part of Rev 11:10 relates to the way the nations celebrate the time of the birth of Christ in the twenty-first century. (I know this because it was revealed to me that we are in the end time.) The first part of this verse also derives meaning from Nehemiah 8:12 because the words are similar. Important are the words “for they understood the words that were declared to them”. This means that at Christmas time, in the end time something will happen that will declare to the nations that we are in the end time. I believe that the earthquakes in Bam and in Asia have confirmed the time measures of Revelation and 2004 heralds the end of a time measure of the Gentiles and that we are in the time of the “outer court”.

Rev 11:10 “for these two prophets tormented them that dwell on earth”. These words means that through the ages those that wished to be free from the bonds of the law of God and were misled by the beasts of Revelation (“them that dwell on earth”), were tormented by the testimony of the “two witnesses”. They would however partake in the festivities at Christmas time even though the time had been reached that the ruling of the nations had undermined the full meaning of the message of Jesus Christ (“dead bodies” of the “two witnesses”).

Revelation further explains the meaning of “them that dwell on earth” in Rev 17:8 “The beast that thou saw was, and is not; shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition; and they that dwell on earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

For those who have not read How near Armageddon, the words “the beast that thou saw was, and is not” and “ the beast that was, and is not, and yet is” may be confusing. It simply means that the words of Revelation refer to the end time, but also to history. Revelation wishes to show how the nations were deceived at certain times in history. How the sinful nature of man could in time drive him to accept that which is contrary to Scripture (“was, and is not”). However there always remains the assurance that in the end time his eyes will be opened (“and yet is”). Those who do not believe that the world has been deceived; those that enjoy their freedom, but cannot see that their comfortable situation is actually contributing to the last generation not having the insight to adhere to the laws of God, they are “them that dwell on earth” and “wonder”.

Revelation reveals that Almighty God would for a time tolerate the undermining of the testimony of the “two witnesses”. The earthquakes and other happenings of the years 2003 and 2004, as related on this Forum, I believe, signify the coming to an end of this tolerance. We are therefore at this point in time not ignorant as to why the earthquakes happened. God wishes to save some of the last generation.

Matthew 12:31-32 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven either in this age or the age to come.
