Revelation and Darwin

The understanding of Revelation refutes the argument that evolution and creation are in the twenty-first century irreconcilable. The problem lies rather in accordance with the saying ‘none as blind as those who will not see’ and a line of reasoning that dates from the nineteenth century: If evolution took place over millions of years then how could the creation of the universe, the earth and all life on earth have taken place in six ‘days’ – therefore say the non believers – there is a problem with the truth of Scripture.

Fortunately the Christians of the nineteenth century were still so educated in the truths of Scripture that they would not just be taken off their religious course (governed by the laws of Scripture) by Darwin’s theories. Over time scientists and a world seeking to believe only that which could be proved materially evolution would be raised to the status of a universal philosophy. If only the unbelieving could have resisted always linking this philosophy to the lie that it is irreconcilable with faith in the creation of the universe, earth and all life on earth many might since the time of Darwin have been saved for the faith.

Now, unfortunately in the twenty-first century the many of the world’s population no longer have knowledge of the entire Bible and many do not live by the laws of Scripture and if the world media and a non religious public opinion say that there is a dispute most would just accept that viewpoint.

So how does Revelation refute the dispute?

Firstly I must once again remind readers of the main aspects of the message of this website. When I witnessed the vision in 1996 that informed me that Revelation could be understood in time measurement through the past two thousand years and that we are near the end time who could have predicted that we would see within a decade such dramatic weather changes all over the globe, so many great windstorms, unbelievable melting of the Arctic zone and now too evidence of the warming of Antarctica. Who could have predicted the current economic woes of a globally linked economy? In other words there is real proof, that the vision that I saw loosened the seals of the seals of the scroll and Revelation is indicating the end time that we are witnessing. The Divine intercession that I experienced did indicate something that no one on earth could have predicted. Therefore we would be ignorant to entirely ignore linking the prophecy to the reality of climate change and economic downturn playing out before our eyes.

The length of a day

The understanding of Revelation indicates that the word “day” in Revelation does not only indicate a “day” as long as we know it to be but a much longer period of time. Therefore Revelation ‘proves’ through the knowledge of time measure in history that a “day” in Scripture is symbolic and can be a great length of time. This knowledge from the understanding of Revelation is of course also substantiated by the words of Peter in 2 Peter 3:8 when he was talking of the end time. He particularly refers to the time of the length of a “day” and those who will scoff at the message of Scripture in the end time. 2 Peter 3:3-4 “Knowing this first, there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” It seems that these words indicate the attitude of many at the present time - they that do not believe the promise of the Return. The words “all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation”, seem to reflect the frame of mind of modern man that has come to disregard the fact that Jesus Christ came to live among men to give mankind greater insight into the will and nature of God, the Father. They seem to prophecy the present day belief in the false philosophy that there is no coming day of judgment.

Great significance

The following two verses are of the greatest significance for Peter follows the prophecy of the time of Judgment with the stern warning that it must be remembered that a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day. 2 Peter 3:7-8 “But the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” I believe that Scripture is so accurate that it is not coincidence that Peter brings the time of judgment into relation with the God’s use of the word “day” in Genesis. The reason that I say this is because God made it known to Daniel that knowledge would expand and man would of course ultimately realize that the earth is very old. Daniel 12:4 “Daniel shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall expand.”

Therefore where the total understanding of Revelation reveals that the measure of a day is symbolic of a time measure other than the time we know it to be and the letter of Peter specifically says that a “day” in the eyes of the Lord can be a thousand years why does modern man continue to see the word “day” as used in the words of creation in Genesis only the measure of 24 hours. Modern man prefers not to accept that Scripture predicts that knowledge will expand and man will ultimately understand the symbolism of Revelation. Modern man will seek to prove the truths of the material world, but will not seek to prove the ageless truths of Scripture through that which is made known to him in the twenty-first century. Therefore he prefers to believe the ‘lie’ that there is no Divine design and no coming ‘day’ of Judgment.

It is of course the saddest thing that this belief in rather the false than the true is also foretold in Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:10 -11 “Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie”.

Therefore if a “day” is symbolic in Scripture of a period of time that can be an extremely long period of time, a “day” in Genesis can be a million years or more. Therefore evolution and creation are reconcilable.

Modern man prefers to read Genesis apart from other sections of Scripture. He will not accept that knowledge will expand to prove both the material world as well as spiritual knowledge. The understanding of Revelation in the past decade together with what we are seeing around us at the present time – great windstorms, extreme weather, heating of the Arctic regions and a global economic turndown – is expanding our spiritual knowledge. But modern man prefers to believe that which disproves the truths of Scripture. He prefers to believe the lie.
