HOW NEAR
ARMAGEDDON - By Elana Janson

 Revelation and Human Cloning

In my historical research of the past two thousand years to find a correlation in the development of the Christian church with the book Revelation, one of the most disturbing discoveries for Christians living in the year 2000, was the indication that human cloning might be man's last audacity before the Second Coming.

The beasts of Revelation

The interpretation as set out in "How Near Armageddon" indicates that subtly, through the influence of "beast out of the sea" and the "beast out of the earth" man has been misled through the centuries of the second millenium. With Revelation's unique measurement of time the "beasts" of Revelation can be accurately distinguished. I believe that Revelation indicates through the words "air" and "breath" as well as the word "pale" that cloning is a transgression by man that will make the Second Coming inevitable. I am going to try to explain the correlation, but readers should refer to my book to fully understand how this explanation is enhanced by the entire meaning of Revelation.

To begin with, in the total time measurement of Revelation, that I believe was revealed to me through the devine intervention, "seven days" are measured from the birth of Christ until the year 2004 - "three and a half days" in each millennium. Revelation also measures 14 "generations" in each millennium.

The words "air", "breath" and "pale" can be correlated with the time of the last (this) generation from 1932 to 2004.

To explain this further we have to go to Revelation 13:13-18. By linking the words of this section of Revelation to events in history, one discovers that the words uncover events in history from 1266 to 1932, which is six hundred and sixty-six years ( the number of man 666). King James Version says six hundred, sixty and six. These are the years 1266, 1366, 1466, 1566, 1666, 1766,1866 ( six hundred), 1886 1906 1926 (sixty years) and 1926 to 1932 (six years). By adding 66 years to 1886, 1906 and 1926 Revelation also reveals the times 1952, 1972 and 1992. (To fully understand this, one will have to refer to "How Near Armageddon".)

It seems that through the time measurement of 666 years, as a basis for the interpretation of the beast out of the earth, Revelation correlates the words "power to give breath" to the time 1952. This is how Rev. 13:14 is interpreted according to the time measurement set out in "How Near Armageddon": "He ordered them to set up an image in honour of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived" (1886 - the year of the completion of the Statue of Liberty). (This refers to the image that stands at the entrance to New York city from the sea, that symbolises how men freed themselves from the rule of the anointed Christian king and the Christian church and set in place a rule of all men.) He was given power to give breath (1952 - the first time that frogs were cloned from tadpole cells- this is discovered by adding 66 years to 1886) to the image of the first beast. ( Once political freedom was achieved by nations, men would take the road to freedom a step further, namely to intervene in the normal development of frogs and later animals and human beings.)

In this way Revelation shows that the Trinity has always known the course that history would take. I believe that in the correct interpretation of Revelation, Christ wished to let his followers know when the Second Coming is near.

Six cows cloned

It was reported in the press at the end of April 2000, that six cows were cloned in the United States and showed signs of being biologically younger than their actual age. Scientists calculate the biological age of cells by looking at telomeres. These are little caps at the end of chromosomes. The six heifers, cloned by taking cells from a 45-day-old foetus and placing them in the egg, have exceptionally young telomeres. The young egg cells act like a little time machine and can take the egg back to the beginning of life, according to Dr Michael West, president of Advanced Cell Technology.

Immediately researchers speculated on the possibilities of this on age-related disease. One cell could be taken from a patient, hundreds or thousands of young cells could be cloned, which would give back to the patient a young immune system or young cartilage in their knees. The disturbing point is that producing these cells will almost certainly involve creating cloned human embryos. These would not be allowed to grow into babies. The governments of the western world have not given the go-ahead to embryonic cloning, but with the arguments put forward by scientists to-day it will, I believe only be a matter of time, before hesitation to proceed will be overruled.

The pale horse

As mentioned, the times of the discovery of scrolls through the last two millenniums, could be linked to the Riders of the Apocalypse. Therefore, the rider on the Pale Horse, Death, the fourth and last rider, correlates with the time of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the year 1947. It seems as if scripture verifies the advancement of biological science to the point of human cloning that will invoke the wrath of Almighty God. The meaning of Revelation was discovered by linking the words of Revelation to the words of the prophets and of Jesus Christ. The word "pale" used in Jeremiah amplifies the meaning of "pale" in Revelation. Jeremiah 30:4. Cries of fear are heard - terror, not peace. Ask and see: "Can a man bear children?" Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labour, every face turned deathly pale? How awful that day will be! None will be like it.

To-day we know that it is possible medically for a man to carry a child in his stomach, if he so wished. It is possible also to clone a child from a male person. It should be noted that Revelation 12:4 says "the woman that was about to give birth". This image in the total analyses of Revelation in How near Armageddon relates to the time of the birth of Christ as well as the times of the turn of the first and second millennia, that is the year AD 1000 and AD 2000. I therefore think it is of the greatest significance that it is in the year 2000 that some scientists believe that man may intervene in human development, even to the point of the destruction of the human foetus. Is Revelation bringing the words of Jeremiah into relation with the year 2000 and the end time?

It seems as if other words in Jeremiah 30:4 confirm this.

"terror" - " But after three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them". Rev 11:11 The time of the resurrection of the true witnesses - the end time.

"deathly pale" - " the rider on the pale horse, Death" - The time of the last rider of the Apocalypse includes the time that the Christian nations will believe that anything may be done in the progress of science for their highest calling is no longer to strive to everlasting life. They would condone the killing of a foetus to prolong life on earth and place the genetic engineering of human beings in the hands of men that cannot ever know the total extent of the implications of human reproduction, let alone the spiritual and psychological aspects preserved in a foetus through generations.

"that day" - could mean the "day of the Lord" or the time of the Second Coming.

I do not think that we can ignore that in Revelation's great measurement of time, the time that correlates with the word "breath" is the year 1952, the time of the cloning of frogs (this image is used in Rev 16:13 to indicate the epitome of the deceit to which man has succumbed). It seems as if mankind will move to the cloning of human embryo's, if it is in the interests of the advancement of medical science. How many will in the year 2000, in a world that will strive to discover whatever is within man's capabilities, believe or take heed that "breath " in Revelation relates to cloning, and in the Bible to the giving of life,"breath of life" (Gen 6:17 and 7:15) and to the wrath of God (Isaiah 11:11 "with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked")? If cloning is going to invoke the wrath of God, we are set on that course, for in the year 2000, man will not be deterred if cloning is necessary for the prolonging of human life on earth.

What "How Near Armageddon" reveals is that man has through the centuries been misled to this point and no longer sees evil ( and no longer strives toward the "mark for the prize for the high calling of God in Jesus Christ" - Philippians 3:14) that is for everlasting life. Man bears the mark of the beast and in the year 2000, like the man who received "one talent", hides his talent in the earth (Matthew 25:25) - meaning that the signs of the end time are being revealed, but man's attention is almost totally bound to the earth (Rev 16:21).
