I have two reasons for using a pen name. The first is that I am a practising Christian and a regular churchgoer (Baptist). Because I have such radical ideas, when I open my mouth mainstream Christians tend to get upset. I have no wish to upset people. The church has enough problems already, and if Dr Janson is right, will soon have a lot more. So in order to keep my relations with my fellow churchgoers peaceful, I use a pen name.
And secondly, I have put posts on this site in my own name before, but when the site was attacked by hackers some time ago, my email address was attacked by the same people. So I thought I would save myself some trouble in this respect also.

PS I shouldn't really mention this, but the sound of the word curmudgeon is not too far from the sound of my own name.
