Well said, Dr Janson. A few years ago I read a book by
a Jewish bible scholar in which he argued that all time
units used in the Bible from Noah onwards are as they are
today, but that all time units used previous to Noah are
symbolic. So according to his argument, when the bible
says that Noah lived 900 years, it means that he lived
900 of our years, but previous to Noah it was possible
that a reference to a 'day' might mean millions of years.
