At the present time Dan 12:4 is surely one of the most profound verses in the Bible.
Daniel 12:4 King James Version (KJV)
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Revelation
With the knowledge of Revelation we can know that God, even at the time of Daniel made known that knowledge of what was to come would be sealed till the time of the end.
“to and fro”
“to and fro” in this verse not only means the movement of people across the earth in the time of Daniel, but across the earth for millennia to come and also today! And “knowledge shall be increased” is the expertise and knowledge of mankind that increased from the time of Daniel to the present day!
This verse gives the greatest insight into particularly the symbolic riders of the apocalypse that symbolically moved over the total earth since the coming of the Christ (west, north, east and south).
“and knowledge shall be increased”
The understanding of the “beast out of the earth” in Revelation has to do with the knowledge that increased in the time 1266 to the end of the twentieth century.
Global village
The world has with modern means of transport become a global village and it has become so much easier to move “to and fro” from country to country.
I am going to quote Acts 17:24-28 because so many have forgotten these words.

24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.
