Rev 11:1 “And there was given me a reed like unto a
rod: and the angel stood saying, Rise and measure the
temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship
therein.”
In 2022, I believe, the ‘temple’ and the ‘altar’ have
been measured. I have explained this on this Forum. For
now, I wish to focus your attention on the words, “and
them that worship therein.
In the freedom loving western nations how many still
worship within the temple? Revelation asks this
question because Revelation is all about man’s
existence on earth in the past some two thousand years
and how the forces of evil have hindered those that
press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:14).
Gathering to Armageddon
At the present time, I believe the nations are
gathering to Armageddon and understanding the concept
of the mark of the beast is essential.
Now more than ever before
Now more than ever before, I can understand the
importance of the positioning of words in Revelation.
As you know, and I have shown in my books and on this
Forum the time from 1266 to 1932, is “six hundred,
three score and six” (Rev 13:18) years, and I believe
constitutes “the number of a man” (Rev 13:18). This
analysis can be found in the section “Chapters” on this
website.
The “mark of the beast” must be understood within the
context of Rev 13:11-18.
(The days are passed that one can just randomly take
verses out of Revelation and assume or speculate they
relate to this or that! Every word is related to time,
has a specific meaning within the context of the whole
of Revelation and is placed in a position to verify
meaning and to confirm where we are today in relation
to the entire Revelation.)
Rev 13: 11-18
Rev 13:11 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of
the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he
spake as a dragon.”
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast
before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell
therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound
was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire
come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the
means of those miracles which he had power to do in the
sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the
earth, that they should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the
beast, that the image of the beast should both speak,
and cause that as many as would not worship the image
of the beast should be killed.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and
poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right
hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had
the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of
his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding
count the number of the beast: for it is the number of
a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and
six.”
To summarize: The beast coming up out of the earth
indicates that man would be misled in his endeavours to
utilize all elements from the earth (“maketh fire come
down from heaven” Rev 13:13 connected to the liquid-
fuelled rocket of 1926); in his discoveries (“give
life” (cloning) Rev 13:15 connected to the year 1952
and the cloning of frogs); and his desire for liberty
(“that they should make an image to the beast” (Rev
13:14) connected to the year of the statue to Liberty
1886).
That no man might buy or sell
Because I believe that the section of the beast coming
up out of the earth relates to the time 1266 to 1932
and 1932 to 1992 (“fourth part of earth” Rev 6:8), I
believe the mark of the beast, in the commercial world
of buying and selling, has already related to sanctions
imposed on nations that did not conform to liberal and
free market views in the twentieth century and up to
to-day.
The cause
The mention of “the beast coming up out of the earth”
being the cause of the “mark” is of paramount
importance because it indicates to man how the forces
of Satan have subtly misled mankind.
Mark of the beast
The only way one can fully understand the mark in the
forehead and in the hand, is by going to all the verses
in which the words relating to the mark of the beast
appear.
One cannot understand the “mark” without reference to
Rev 1:6.
“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his
Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever,
Aman”
In the above verse Revelation reveals that Christians
must in their whole being, in their thinking (forehead,
and as a ‘priest’) and in their doing (hand, and as a
‘king’) obey the teachings of Jesus Christ.
A spiritual attitude
What Revelation reveals in Chapter 13, that deals with
the “beast coming up out of the sea” and the “beast
coming up out of the earth” is how the course of
history and the temptations of Satan would mislead some
to ultimately bear the mark of the beast. The ‘mark’ is
essentially a spiritual attitude and belief that turns
a soul away from adhering to the Faith and seek
forgiveness for sin.
Rev 13:16-17
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and
poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right
hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had
the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of
his name.
The above verses reveal how powerful the influences of
the “beast” have ultimately become. A spiritual
conviction will ultimately be accepted world-wide (“no-
man might buy or sell”) and will particularly be seen
in the trade policies of the nations.
Revelation 14:9-11 King James Version
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud
voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and
receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of
God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup
of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire
and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and
in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever
and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who
worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receiveth the mark of his name.
In the above verses Revelation reveals how complicated
the end time has become. The whole world wondered after
the beast (Rev.13:3) and no one can buy or sell without
the mark of the beast (Rev.13:17). Those with the mark
of the beast will “drink the wine of the wrath of God”
(Rev.14:10).
Rev 15:2
2 “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with
fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the
beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over
the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass,
having the harps of God.”
Those that accomplished a victory over the mark of the
beast will enter the kingdom of heaven.
Rev 16:2
2 “And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the
earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon
the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them
which worshipped his image.”
“A noisome and grievous sore”, a sign of the mark of
the beast.
What is being revealed
I do not like to speculate on what might still be. I
try to understand what has been revealed and is being
revealed. At the present time the outcome of the war
and turmoil in Europe is of the greatest significance.
I believe we are currently witnessing the treading of
the winepress of the wrath of God. Other signs from God
mentioned in Revelation may follow sooner than we
think. For, as I have said before, we are, I believe,
in the days of the sounding of the seventh trumpet (Rev
10:7).
