HOW NEAR
ARMAGEDDON - By Elana Janson

Question: Dr Janson, you say that you have interpreted the book of Revelation. Revelation 3:5 says that "But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll to look inside. Then one of the elders said to me "Do not weep! See he the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals". How do you explain this?

Answer: I believe the supreme revelation in the interpretation "How Near Armageddon" is, that the words that Jesus Christ ( who Christians believe is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David - the Messiah) spoke while he was on earth, unlock the meaning of Revelation. In the interpretation the following words of Christ can be directly brought to bear in the correlation of Revelation with the history of the past two millennia. Revelation measures "three and a half days" in each millennium, therefore the total time of seven days in the two millennia up to the year 2004. We know this from Rev 11:11 "But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them , and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them".

When Christ said: "Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days", he was not only talking about his death and resurrection, but also the measurement of time in the first millennium after the year 70 ( the time of the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem) until the middle of the tenth century, when the Christian religion would spread throughout Europe and the Christian kings and the Christian church were in unity. We know from John 2:21 that the "temple" he spoke of was his body.

In the interpretation of Revelation time is measured from the four cardinal years in the life of Christ, namely his birth, presentation in the temple, baptism and death and resurrection. This is revealed in Revelation by the words "measure the temple of God and the altar" ( Rev 11:1) "Temple" in Revelation means the time of the development and growth of the Christian church (symbolically those who commemorate his death and resurrection by the eating of the bread and the drinking of the wine and are therefore part of the "body" of Christ - Matthew 26:26 "Take and eat, this is my body". Through the wine, Christians are part of the (his) blood of the covenant that was poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Revelation not only measures the time of 'seven days', it also measures the time of 'night' and the time of "earth". Therefore when Christ spoke of "the sign of Jonah" ( Matth 12:39 - "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth") he not only spoke of his death and resurrection after "three days", but also of the time measurement of Revelation to be revealed to mankind in the year 2000. This is why the "sign of Jonah" is followed by "at the judgement" (Matthew 12:41and 42) for it has bearing on the end time.

Likewise, Revelation measures "a short season" at the end of each millennium. This is a time shorter than twelve years. Twelve years in Revelation is the time of a "season". When Christ said "a little while and you will not see me, and a little while and you will see me" John 16:16 he was not only referring to his death and resurrection, but also to the the "short season" at about the time AD1000 and AD 2000. The entire Revelation is constructed according to the measurement of two periods of one thousand years. Therefore, in the year 2000, it cannot be long until the Second Coming.

Revelation undoubtedly confirms that Christ truly is the Son of God for he had insight not only into the course of the future history of mankind, but also into man's thinking in the time to come. He knew how man by his nature would react to future conditions on earth, but also in the time frame that it would take place.

I know that the interpretation set out in "How Near Armageddon" is correct for its total time measurement is verified by the words of Jesus Christ in Matth. 12:42 concerning the "queen of the south". The full explanation is given in the "Addendum by the author" in Reviews.

Through the devine direction given to me at the beginning of my research - direction that confirmed possible links in history to the words of Revelation, and ultimately led to the interpretation of Revelation's total time measurement - well as the words of Jesus Christ that seem to confirm the correlation of Revelation with time measurement in the last two millennia, I believe that I was given insight into the correct interpretation of Revelation.
