Paul,

I'm not a minister, rather a self-educated 7th-grade elementary school dropout, but I've studied the Scriptures and found your article helpful. I'm only going to comment on the first four paragraphs.

With the first, I fully agree.

Re the second, note carefully that Zech. 12:11, is comparing the mourning in Jerusalem (possibly spiritual, end-time Jerusalem) with that of "Hadadrimmon" in the valley of Jezreel, not locating it there. Zechariah says "as the mourning of Hadadrimmon."

I fully agree with paragraph three.

With paragraph four, I have some problems. The Greek Armageddon uses the rough breathing accent mark, giving the word the 'H' sound, as in Har, not the lack of it, as in Aram. Also when you attach the 'm' to "Ar" you steal it from Megiddon. It's a good theory but considering the rough-breathing sound, etc. it's flawed. A better explanation is to retain the view that Har means mountain, but with a different twist. Considering the fact that neither Mediddo or Megiddon is a mountain, we should view Har (mountain) in its symbolic light. In prophetic symbolism the Hebrew Har (mountain or hill) refers to a nation, city, or even a prominent person.

So, you're right that Armageddon or Har Megiddon means place of the gathering of troops. But more specifically, it means "Nation of Rendezvous" or nation of the gathering of troops.

For an explanation of which nation, see www.jdhigdon.com/usdefpow.html

And while there, the supporting article "The Lost Tribes Of Israel."
